Halloween is right around the corner and we want to make sure your holiday is scary, but for all the right reasons. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard offers some great tips on how to stay safe this Halloween.
-Think about visibility when choosing a costume for you or your child and consider adding some reflective material if the costume is dark. Also make sure the costume does not obstruct visibility.
-Travel in groups, carry a flashlight, and know your route.
-Check the Michigan Sex Offender Registry before planning your route to protect your children.
-Drivers should slow down and use extra caution during Trick-or-Treat hours.
-Inspect candy when you/your child gets home. Look for tampering and avoid any homemade treats. Throw out any suspicious candy.
